Help child and youth victims move past their experiences.
Our facility dog, NSD Yzer, has improved the wellbeing of hundreds of children and youth who’ve been witnesses to crime. Give this GivingTuesday in memory of NSD Yzer and for the future of our facility dog program.
Our best girl, the most amazing, and hardest working yellow lab dog NSD Yzer sadly passed away in October 2023 after her short battle with illness. When children faced unimaginable challenges, NSD Yzer was their guiding light and gave them the strength and confidence they needed to overcome their experiences. Aside from her work, she was truly a member of our family and she is deeply missed. We are continuing her legacy and want to be able to do more to help child witnesses of crime and their families, so that’s why we’re dedicating this GivingTuesday to NSD Yzer and our facility dog program at the London Family Court Clinic.
Back in 2016, London Family Court Clinic introduced the first courthouse facility dog in Ontario as part of an ongoing systematic effort to make the justice system more friendly to child and youth witnesses of crime, so that they could provide a full and candid account of their evidence to the court. The facility dog has been invaluable to the work of our Child Witness Project ever since.
Our facility dog program is completely funded by donations
Food, toys, shelter, and whatever else they may need to keep up the hard work they’re doing every day for example. Owning a dog isn’t always the easiest thing, as some of you might know—they can’t be left alone like a cat and require constant attention, need their own big beds, need to stay active, and love to eat! We’re not complaining though.
Here’s how $100 can help
13.7% of annual pet insurance
1 month of dog food
9.5% of annual veterinary costs
2 years of grooming
