Services
- Jordan’s Principle is a child-first principle that ensures First Nations children can access the same public services as other children in Canada. Jordan’s Principle makes sure all First Nations children living in Canada can access the products, services and supports they need, when they need them.
Referral Process
- Application can be made online or over the phone.
- Over the phone application: Provides immediate case number and assistance in filling out required documentation.
- Contacting Jordan’s Principle via telephone is more efficient and accessible compared to navigating the website.
Eligibility
- All applicants must be Original Peoples (Indigenous Peoples), registration for status is not required.
- An advocate can make the referral on behalf of a family.
- Inuit children and families should seek resources through The Inuit Child First Initiative.
- Residence on or off reservation does not affect eligibility.
